Lemme see how long did it take for this response?? Wow slow learning curve, or really fast time travel…lol
Ideally you don’t want to eat more than 4-600 cal per meal and if we had 3 meals of this size and a couple low cal snacks…we’ld easy be in the realm of inside the zone.
The other part I find really important that we generally don’t get. So people decide they are going to diet…short for deprivation! so they starve themselves. Well that doesn’t work does it? At first you may lose some weight, but a couple things happen here. One, your body will go into starvation mode and keep the weight and then because your body has been there and its understanding is starvation: when you begin to eat more guess what happens? All the weight you lost and then some comes raging back again. Being on a diet sets you up for failure because its “temporary”. Long term lifestyle change and nutritional cleansing is where its at baby.
As in anything in life including blogs and eating right, building a business, mastering a craft, building a relationship and more. Consistent persistence is key!!
Makes sense to me as I don’t want to be storing any extra calories to be added as weight gain unless I plan on starving or training hard.
Whe we eat an excess of calories our body will do what is accustom to with the calories.
For axample, if you regularily eat more claories than your body requires, you body will store those calories in fat…and you will experience weight gain.
If you work out regularily and you over eat and your body is used to your need for those extra calories for your muscle fuel it will send those extra claories to your muscles for ready use.
I am sure you have heard the saying, It takes about 3-4 weeks to change or make a habit. Well it takes about the same time for your liver to change what it does with calories.
As far as how long before you should eat again, there are different philosophies, but many experts now agree, that we should eat in small quantities every 3-4 hours. I suggest to people to pay attention and see what feels good for them, which may take a little while for them to figure that out, but th awareness is really important if we want to change our health.
Wow, Kate! That is pretty interesting. Does that mean we should limit ourselves to 600 calories per meal?
How long should we wait before eating again?
